What the GOP Needs To Do Post Majority 04/20/2010
America is in the largest state of post-shock it has ever encountered. We are literally being taken over from within. Because of this and other reasons, the election of 2010 will be without a doubt one for the books. Already, we have seen such historical moments as a collection of upset citizens showing strength against a majority whose “Hope” agenda continues to cost them and have signed away many futures. In addition, once strong members of the said party have backed down under the pressure and have begun to dig their way out of the current events with whatever dignity they have left. But most of all, we have seen an increase in debate and discussion many are comparing to the same conversations that once took place in the halls of Philadelphia one summer in 1776. Read More To avert our attention from the damage ObamaCare is doing to America day after day, President Obama lifted a moratorium to allow oil drilling off the Eastern seaboard and potentially the western coast of Florida. Thinking he once again did something for America they way he did when he signed ObamaCare, hence many futures away, Obama has gone as far as to adopt the Republican chant “Drill baby drill!”. Lately, there has been a feeling that he is “playing” President instead of being president, thinking his actions don’t really affect people. When it comes to this “Drill baby drill” action, he must see the consequences. Not only would it result in jamming the court houses further, and giving liberal environmental groups more to cry about but it pretty much does nothing in the way of immediacy to get America off foreign oil. First, nothing if anything happens, it cannot even have a chance till 2012. Second, it’s an allowance to look for places to drill. Finally, not only is this pretty much putting his name on a 2008 action by Congress, but once again limits areas such as Alaska. Many people say Alaska is off limits for environmental reasons. However, the reality is studies show the heat result in animal reproduction (funny but true). Of course, Obama supporters immediately call this a “Jobs Bill” since he, after ObamaCare first crashed and burned after its first deadline to sign, promised to focus on that. One problem with that: The EPA along with our POTUS around the same time installed a rule establishing emissions and fuel economy standards for the U.S. auto fleet. With a cost of up to $1,300 per vehicle, it is as House Majority Leader Boehner calls “a job killer.” Score another one for Obama? Obama attempts to excuse this and other related objectives, stating that it will allow “home grown” opportunities to evade us from international oil sources with renewable sources. The issue with that is most technologies are very much way off in being finished; not to mention the time it takes to be integrated into society. Nonetheless, America is an oil and gas country and probably will be even if these “homegrown” opportunities are out there. Hence the gas prices will still be an issue, which leaves us back at step one. Therefore, if the President really wants the phrase “Drill baby drill”, Well Mr. President: Put your money where your mouth is. Chief of Staff? More Like Chief of Spite! 03/09/2010
I would like to begin this article with a well known story of our President’s most trusted advisor: “At a Little Rock restaurant, soon after Mr. Clinton is elected president, Mr. Emanuel, ticking off a list of what he thought were disloyal Democrats and other political enemies, stabs the table with his knife and screams, ''Dead!'' after each name.” Listing people on his side for being “disloyal” and pronouncing them not even having the right to lead shows one thing: Rahm Emanuael is a disgrace to the White House. The White House is a building that is set to stand for the stature and strength of our national government has been tarnished by his disregard for anything other than flailing around his power and threatening whomever does not believe in him and his supervisor. One thing I loved about President George W. Bush is that he listened to the best minds, no matter what their political beliefs or affiliation because, in the end, it was what was best for the country and not his ego that mattered most. Obama, obviously missing that memo, has allowed a doctorial megalomaniac to enter the West Wing. Emanuel has crossed so many boundaries, yet has gotten no punishment from his supervisor. What does he need to do to get the negative response he deserves? From calling members of his own side of the aisle “F-ing retarded” to invading legislators’ personal space (not to mention crossing areas within the Capitol Hill property,) this man has stepped over every limit that has been placed. More importantly, he has not impacted any positive “change” which he and his fellow Administration members promised us once upon an election. The most incredible thing is the track of apology. While Special Olympics chairman and CEO Tim Shriver, who recently launched a campaign to end the use of “the R word” deserved an apology, What about the public as a whole? How about an apology for disrespecting our government? Where is our apology? I don't know about you, but I would like it in the form of Emanuel's resignation letter. Because to me, this has gone past the “brash personality” which he was once known for. Emanuel is now a risk to the future of America. He needs to resign...now. Obama Knew all...and Did Nothing 06/21/2009
From day one of the spill, we have seen that it has left more than tragedy and waste in its path but also a magnifying of exactly what our White House holds: Zero real leadership and continuous degradation of the U.S. Constitution. While many political experts have said time and time again that our Commander is no more a leader than Kim Jong-il is a fan of freedom, the American people are experiencing this first hand. Before the spill, we saw ourselves with a President who, knowing that there were challenges when it came to oil rig safety, still lifted a moratorium and attempted to swipe the words “Drill Baby Drill” from the Right Wing leaders. Saying it was not a decision he made lightly, he went forward with the plans. Americans, who were rightly tired of the reliance on foreign oil, breathed a sigh of relief not only for the oil but to have seen an act from the most inactive President. Then we saw the explosion and things changed within seconds. After the tragedy, the nation waited for some form of response from the man who said he was a citizen’s leader. While a horrific and tragic oil spill, Obama continues accusing everyone but himself for any if at all blame for the damage, death and destruction. Finally, we have the administration strong-arm the BP companies for money many affected Americans probably won’t see for nothing other than another piece of the American corporate pie, and now we are left with the largest boom regarding this news event ever. Barack Obama, who has consistently attempted to keep any bit of the oil spill off of what he actually believes is an untarnished presidency, was told about “issues” in April by Energy and Climate Policy Director Carol Browner regarding the BP spill earlier than any strong action occurred from the Governmental entity. In fact, not only were impacting related events involved in the discussion, but also the pending damage that would occur in the near to distant future and how hard it would be to plug up the hole left by the explosion. After being told he was told that no repair such as a cap of this type has ever been done and would pretty much need to be created independently, action was required but denied. So far, the response has been nothing more than a “fund”, families wondering how they are going to survive as their financial resource turns black and an Oval Office Speech that not only made the President a joke but also the American People. Throughout every situation regarding this challenging national event, we are being watched and as we see our President discuss and work on everything but BP. Hence, a CEO on a yacht is the least of our worries. We should not just be asking BP questions but also our own President. We are his employees and frankly his progress report would get any usual employee fired. |
