The healthcare reform proposal President Obama has made his priority carries no constituent support at all. Despite the obvious reaction to returning to the drawing board, (an act some people believed was what he was doing when he scheduled a bipartisan summit) Obama’s administration and members of his majority party has decided to shove it down the nation’s throats. With the help of Obama going as far as to postpone a trip to help pushing it to pass, is there any other reason this man is a one term President?

With a prospective and supposedly “historic” passing of something Americans and many legislators have declared a fiscal time bomb (the best estimates are a cost of over $2.5 trillion), President Obama is literally refusing to listen to his real bosses: The American people. Further, there is literally nothing off limits when it comes to passing this through the system and on the law books. From selling judicial seats to now using reconciliation, this “we know best” administration is resorting to trickery and bribery for a political objective that will cost the nation they were charged to lead and assist more than they have as well as threaten more futures than they could ever think of helping.

Already they have come to the greatest of extents to approve something that will follow Obama and his cronies for the rest of their political career like a dark shadow. Nonetheless, Obama’s legislative sidekick, Speaker Nancy Pelosi says the collection of lacking legislators will work “as long as it takes” to pass this. Enough is enough, they have gone too far.

More and more, this administration is looking like the same dictatorship our forefathers warned us about. It threatens not only the fiscal health of the country but gives yet another pass to the illegal alien. Although these trespassers will be covered by this plan, they will not carry the financial burden of its cost as they do not pay the taxes which will be increased. Already, they have been receiving health assistance on the American’s dime. Only now, we are going to pay more for their health coverage and still receive no financial payback until they register legally.

Already illegal aliens have been receiving healthcare on the American tax dollar. Judicial Watch reported in 2007 “Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Diego and Indiana are among the cities where Mexican consulates operate the health referral system which annually costs U.S. taxpayers billions of dollars.”

Wait a minute, wasn’t this the President who wanted to support immigration? In fact, then candidate Obama addressed the 2008 National La Raza Conference promising he would pass so-called “Comprehensive Immigration Reform.” Yet he is rewarding the illegal aliens with an incentive of more free healthcare if they cross our borders. You tell me: Why would one immigrate legally when he receives even more (not to mention free) healthcare assistance for coming illegaly?

However, this shouldn’t be to surprising to us. In February he expanded the life of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), loosening eligibility requirements for legal immigrants and their children and easing the requirements needed to use fake Social Security cards to apply for benefits. Not to mention obviously making it harder for them to be caught. Michelle Malkin stated, “Immigration activists see the provisions as first steps toward universal coverage for illegals.”

Immigration and illegal immigrant assistance are two different ball fields and although once upon a time he said he was on the first field, his recent actions show he‘s actually on the latter.

Obama is not a friend of the American; in fact I don’t see him as a friend of anyone but himself and the needs of his party. There is nothing in this plan which in any way assists the nation. If anything it hurts the ones that need the most help, now more than ever. If we don’t somehow cough up this Obama coated pill, we will are in for some expensive aftermaths.

Wow.... very well written Heather. Here are my opinions. Yes, maybe the country needed or thought they needed change or a different way of doing things from the way we were. Historically, the younger generations seem to migrate more towards the "aggressive" or radical side of political maneuvering and as we get older we seem to be more complacent and supposedly, more wise as to what works and what doesn't and therefore maybe sometimes more conservative in our way of thinking.. In this case though, I think the American people would have voted almost anyone into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue that wasn't Republican just to get rid of the past 8 years in their minds. As for Obama and his mindset as to where he is leading the country? One would think that the change he promised is not the change we got. I sometimes wonder who his "advisors" work for and to what end. We have seen Obama acknowledge that he wishes to give Jerusalem back to the Palestinians, a move that in my mind, would enrage the only strong ally in the Middle East that we have, namely Israel. We have seen members of his administration, namely Pelosi make comments like "The only way to see what is really in the health care bill is to pass it." Say what??? Article I, section 8 of the Constitution of the United States....

Known as the “enumerated powers” of Congress, this part of the Constitution is the “rule book” which Congress is supposed to live by. There are only about 25 powers granted by the Constitution to the Federal Congress. This section of the Constitution limits the power of Congress. The Declaration of Independence says people are “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights” and “that to secure these rights, governments are instituted.” It’s important for everyone to read Article I, section 8 because when Congress violates this part of the Constitution they violate our freedom rather than securing it.

If you haven't done so, go to Google or your favorite search engine and look it up. Read it, and then make your own decision as to whether or not this Congress has overstepped its boundaries. If you feel like many other AMERICANS do, that pressing 1 for English, illegals should not get the same benefits for free as those of us that worked hard to get them have, or if you feel that the people in Washington, whether it be in Congress or the White House are not listening to you, speak up. Let your voice be heard. One talk radio host once said that each telephone call received by his show equaled the voice of 1,000 listeners who were afraid to call because of shyness or whatever reason.

In closing, remember this. This is OUR country. We CHOOSE to live here as opposed to someplace else BECAUSE of the freedoms and the rights we enjoy as Americans, freedoms and rights hard earned in wars and battles fought over the last 200+ years.

Are we willing to throw away those freedoms and rights within FOUR years that took us over two HUNDRED to earn?

Think about it.....

Good blog Heather. I very much like this part:

Oh, how our political leaders have forgotten this core value of democratic government. They serve us. When we start to serve them we lose the distinguishing feature of our system.

and this:

The know best attitude. It symbolizes the arrogance that is so rampant on the left. The USA is in worse shape now than it was when I was a child. That is a pattern that runs counter to the usual course of American history.
