While the possibility of yet another stimulus package stood in the wings, Senior White House Advisor David Axelrod recently discussed his conservative opponents' involvement to revive the nation of our of the current recession as attempts “to block” every effort to repair the issues.Obviously not able to make any examples, yet another statement from the White House has more holes than ever thought possible. Aside from attempting to restrict the now $862 billion stimulus and its detrimental affects such as a 9.5 percent and rising unemployment rate, there is not one useful piece of legislation placed on the floor which neither would have resulted in an upswing within this recession nor was held back by the Republican minority. In fact, one of the few objectives holding the sinking ship that is our economy up a bit, the Bush tax cuts, have received the same liberal backlash which Axelrod has accused the Republicans of from his side of the aisle. President Bush signed the Tax Increase Prevention and Reconciliation Act of 2005, extending his 2003 tax cuts on dividends and capital gains.Set to expire at the end of this year, the TaxPolicyCenter estimates that the tax cuts will bring $366 billion per year into the U.S. Treasury over the next 10 years.Despite this being funding our nation desperately needs, Democrats have already declared trimming it down before allowing it back into law to only allow middle class tax cuts.Last month, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner reiterated the Obama administration's support for extending middle-class breaks for families making less than $250,000 annually, while allowing those for higher earners to lapse. The response from the Republicans was yet another reiteration: Democrats are continuing to ignoring a "ticking tax bomb." If not allowed to continue tax decreases that result from the Reconciliation Act, the result will be more issues for the nation to handle. Although this may be surprising for one to realize the Democrats may not see this, we must remember their own version of assisting the nation: The First Stimulus Bill.Joblessness claims, although a large piece, are not the only piece of the iceberg digging into the nation as a result of this legislation.Situations state to state have increasingly worsened through a domino effect towards small businesses, individuals and as result families. Nevertheless, Axelrod once again got his own administration wrong. Instead of making an actual Stimulus Package, he and his leaders created a time bomb which, after exploding, was retorted by accusing the GOP of blocking every other legislation that would have helped our situation.Hence, The Bush Tax Cuts not only need to be extended but also reflected in any other suggested package to stimulate the economy.Despite Axelrod’s claim, there has been no other legislation attempted which has not only been responded to by GOP blocking but has suggested assisting our current economic situation. If anything, the attempts to block what we are now calling the worst “Recovery Summer” to occur, was a positive that only Axelrod and his followers recall as threatening. It is not news to hear that we are in an environment of bias which is fueled by our mainstream media. It is not even news when we hear that people who speak truth are pushed down by this sector. However, a recent situation has forced us to not only see the strength of this realization but also the danger. Can a Glenn Beck rally turn the tide? Recently, Glenn Beck carried out a rally to influence and enhance the honor of this nation in one of its most tumultuous times since the Great Depression. Almost immediately after being announced, it has to come to the defense of itself via the media. Even supposedly conservative hosts such as Joe Scarborough are attempting to wonder the reasoning behind it actually using the world “bewilderment” in a tweet discussing the segment. Ignoring real news such as a liberal legislator wanting to question conservative groups’ funding against the 9-11 Mosque and not the funding of it’s prospective creation, rambles continue on to figure out the events’ reasoning and no recognition of the actual chance to revive the nation and remind us of who we are. Today, we actually live in a time where uniting for the good of the nation becomes cause for threatening debate instead of full fledged celebration that we are a nation which can do this type of thing even in times of turmoil. Even the selection of the date, the anniversary of Martin Luther King ’s Speech and same location, was under attack when in reality it is this type of event which King professed himself: Celebrating this nation and our ability and freedom to recognize it. A Glenn Beck rally captures very spirit. As a 20-Something year old conservative woman in New York, home of many recent rallies, it scares me that events at our nation’s capitol to profess exactly what we were made for can be attacked. In fact, it is this fear which leads me to politics in the first place as well as many of my colleagues. However, despite any attack or negative response no matter what the prospective strength of this negative reaction, even in times of turmoil we show the true errors of our ways which must be revised not only for our nation’s sake at this point in time but also for us to thrive at all. I just hope this event and the actions within it and the participants begin erasing these situations as soon as possible. If only for our nation’s sake. With Kagan, we get a Lifetime Obama 08/20/2010
The bottom line, however you want to look at it, to Obama’s selection for Supreme Court is for his power only. Not only is Kagen not a correct choice for the nation but for the court as well; especially in this time of war and fiscal challenge. No matter who it is, everyone you will speak to about Kagan has their own ideas of her but the one thing that stands out within everyone’s response is clear: “No experience in the judicial chambers.” Although many follow that up with other previous members of the Supreme Court and their glowing background as justices, it is not just the experience but what comes along with it that we should be just as concerned with. It is the timing of her arrival. We are in a time of incredible crisis and, while we await the end of Obama’s reign so we can fully restore ourselves, to place another politically questionable newbie into a lifetime appointment will place us in an even worse place than we are now. Further, even when you look at her experience, some seen through the documents allowed by the Obama administration, you see very strong opinions for the most recently examined and questioned factors of society. When President Obama was a freshman Senator, he left a lot of markings that, if really examined, would have been warning signs to his plans for power. When it comes to Kagan, we see the same thing through instances such as her attempt to create a bench for herself in less stronghold positions such as president of a law school to evade the military from entering for recruitment purposes. Another aspect we should be focusing on is the fact that we, being a nation that is gradually being sold off by a president-in-training, should realize putting training wheels on a higher office for anyone leads to dramatic results and aftermaths. If she is placed in this position, we cannot fire her and she will not leave for decades through which she will affect our nation even past her lifetime. This price is a mere fraction we are paying now for allowing our commander-in-training and one we cannot pay; especially now. One thing that we can take from the error that is Obama, is a lesson that should be learned fast: Training wheels are not allowed on any factor of our government. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof: or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” -The U.S. Constitution There are two words that can be taken from the right stated above: Government infraction. Despite no member of the federal government being involved in the citizen organizations practicing their freedom of speech against the 9-11 Mosque, their right to act upon this current issue is being placed as a pillar for the Mosque and against the Constitution. Leading the fight, any of the nation’s most powerful liberal legislators are attempting to protect the plans to build a Mosque in the same building where one of the plane’s landing gear hit on September 11th. At a Ramadan celebration dinner at the White House, President Obama used the statement to show support for the mosque. Alongside him, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, ignoring the fact that the resources of the millions involved in the project are still unknown, openly demanded to investigate where the money used for Anti-World Trade Center Mosque ads are coming from. As a result of their misinterpretation of this American right, the 9-11 Mosque is not just an offense against the heroes of that tragic day, but a display of the Constitution once again being reworded. When it comes to the right to practice religion, this activity is in no way barred by recent rallies or reactions. Almost every request to refuse the mosque has carried with it suggestions of other locations within the State which would not only be a distance away from the site but also better locations for the Muslim community whose majority is nowhere near the proposed area. Further, no actions against the religion being practiced have ever taken place even in the smallest of arenas. In Michigan a highly Muslim populated school held their football practice in the middle of the night to assist their students in their Ramadan celebration tradition. Placing aside the fact that this nation should protect its own first with these rights, not only is the building an atrocity, but an unneeded factor of their religion location wise in the first place. Not only is the Muslim majority no where near the area chosen but prospective members will have to pass other Muslim mosques to even enter the parking lot of this proposed location. Defending religious freedom by allowing the mosque to be built is about as moot as it can be. Religious freedom is freedom to practice; a right the protestors are nowhere near touching when discussing this issue. Leaning against our own rules regarding religious freedom, we are doing nothing more than once again rewording and misinterpreting a right to assist an objective that is connected to our tragic history and national security. Throughout many articles, America continually sees that the Obama administration and his cronies live in a bubble where they are the greatest leaders of this nation and not the ones that are continually selling its future like the stock market. Recently, Senior Obama Advisor David Axelrod stated that America would be going “backwards” if they allowed the GOP to take the majority in 2010. Once again, we see the backwards thinking of the Obama Administration. From day one, the Presidency has been against everyone who supported them, majorly the youth, via so-called reform as well as ignoring the real issues that need the Commander in Chief’s attention. The top one that has lacked real attention: Jobs. Employment, especially regarding private sector jobs, has resulted in risking the former fan base that is the youth of the nation. The same people who once upon a time gave their dime and time to Obama hoping for “Change” from an unpopular president and war. Now, with the same volunteers looking for their first jobs, unemployment stands at 9.5 percent. The response? With job adding predictions regarding his “Stimulus” activity ranging between a half-a-million to three-million jobs and themselves being consistently questioned and dissected, positive aftermaths for employment have been few and far between. This, of course, has resulted in a lack of response when it was recently announced that a third is on the way. Further, while the nation waits for the possibility of more “Stimulus” to hit the legislative floor, not only are college graduates majorly feeling hit by the recent situation but also the high school students who are currently reaching out for summer gigs. In May, 6,000 jobs were created among 16-to-19 year olds, the smallest increase in more than 40 years. At the same time Axelrod made his statement, Obama has attempted to change his now administration’s slogan from “Yes We Can” to “Yes We Did”. Today many members of society such has the youth are asking “Did what?” The Congressional Budget Office projects cumulative national debt to increase in the next decade by $9.8 trillion. This “generational theft” will soon create lower standards of living for Americans in the future and, as an obvious result, a reduction on the youth’s available opportunities. Staying on the aspect of future, not too recently the Labor Department attempted to revoke unpaid internships from the Craigslists and classifieds of the world because of possible subversion of federal rules. Not only is the administration allowing the constriction and reduction of paid employment, but unpaid employment which assists the youth in gaining experience while they wait for jobs to come is also risked by the administration. Hence the question of “Did what?” continually is cried out back to the new attempted alteration of the campaign slogan. With the future fading more and more, covering like a California fog over the hopes of our nation’s youth; Not only being unaffected by the “Stimulus” but still waiting for the “Change” while they watch a great deal more than hope fade by the day. Lack of impact of the assistance package and other Obama-lead actions, it seems the picture is bleakest for African-American teens, for which June unemployment stood at 46 percent and real changes do not seem to be possible at least for the near future. Further, all ages from 19 and beyond are more impacted with the situation when it comes to the timing it has occurred: summer months for teens and college graduation day. The result of this? Despite what many political pundits may be hinting at, these are the people who will not forget in November and will work to burst the bubble that our current leadership resides. Originally Written for Parcbench.com While liberal pundits may joke that Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is as popular as predecessor Grey Davis was, they should be paying a bit of attention to the increasing disapproval rating of their current leader and its already visible aftermath. White House aides were recently quoted saying they are prepping an “aggressive schedule” for former President Bill Clinton to assist in funding and voter needs for the left regarding the upcoming election. Obama’s schedule, for observable reasons, will be lesser and far between that Clinton’s. While they may hide behind statements such as business needing his attention, scuff marks on his golf clubs and the mileage on Air Force One may beg to differ that prospective reasoning for his lack of electoral event involvement. A Democratic operative discussing this stated there are few “talented politicians” on their side that can “lay out the contrast with the Republicans”. However, the obvious reasoning behind this is as clear as Obama promised the government was going to be: “Hide the unpopular leader while we still have a chance to win.” Clinton, no matter what kind of corrupt background he carried within his leadership, is an attention getter and will bring many checkbooks and liberal ballot marks. No matter what they do however, the past years of the democratic leadership did happen. Hence, the only issue with that is no “talented politician” can hide the broken promises of the current Administration. One thing that the Democrats should realize is that they are not dealing with the same voting citizens. The Tea Party, no matter what the NAACP says, has resulted in more educated citizens. Much like the first Tea Party, they are debating not only with passion but with facts and research founding their statements. The fact that a former President who was lucky enough to be leading during an economy that had nothing to do with him and, how so many forget, was involved in historic impeachment proceedings, shows the straws which Democrats are reaching for and how much they are realizing: They may see the unemployment line in November. Originally written for Parcbench.com Recently, a whisper from the media has resulted in a scream of the phrase that they seem to begin wearing as a badge instead of a smear more and more recently: Liberal Bias. It seems once again the liberal leadership can do no wrong, even when they are involved in an objective which they just a few years ago (something you wouldn’t realize if you saw the past few months articles) with a now member of political history. In 2005, Jack Abramoff was huge news and pretty much placed a bull’s eye on Republican leadership. Despite the fact that there were funds accepted by Democrats such as Senator Feingold, almost immediately demands came from members of the press to return every dime ever received by Abramoff taking small bits of news such as President Bush’s contributions and enlarging them. This month, a liberal Jack Abramoff, Iranian-American investment banker Hassan Nemazee was sentenced to 12 years in prison for bank fraud. Despite title such as “Ex Clinton” periodically taking part in the title, the lack of press if any as well as nonexistence of follow up news, the press screams bias beyond any past event could have ever reached. Not only is there a lack of news articles, but more importantly a lack of demands for returning funds. Reuters Press reported Nemazee was one of the top “bundlers” of contributions to Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, according to the Center for Responsive Politics’ OpenSecrets.org. In fact, he typically donated more than $100,000 annually to Democrats including current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The follow of the whisper seems to be a pin drop while when Abramoff was found by the press, there were not only demands for returning funds and reports of such but articles are still occurring even months ago when he attempted to repair his life in a kosher pizzeria. It seems that this party literally can do no wrong even when court proceedings and jail sentences are involved. As said before, despite the failing ratings and readership levels, liberal bias seems to be a badge of honor instead of a stain of slander to the liberal media as a whole. The result will not only be an increase in citizen and independent journalism’s popularity, but more importantly a decline in the political party which they are consistently attempting to protect. Originally Printed in Parcbench.com Despite these “caps” that are continuing to be placed on the leaked pipe within the shores of the gulf, BP is and will continue to be a story which the nation has a right to hear about. Even after the spill is contained, its aftermath will continue and the nation needs to be updated on its progress; especially considering how Obama continues to disallow assistance from foreign allies despite our obvious inability to handle the situation alone. Now, not only is international assistance restricted, so is the media. On July 1st, Thad Allen, acting commander of the Coast Guard’s response to the oil drill, announced that the media will not be allowed to photograph oil-covered wildlife, oil-covered wetlands, or certain boons designed to protect the beaches along the Gulf Coast states. What surprises me the most about this is that the majority of the media is Obama’s largest fan base. While they ignore stories such as a whistleblower claiming appointees of his administration blocked the process of a voter discrimination case involving the New a Black Panther Party, the reality is access allowance from these segments of society should be the least of his worries. While they attacked BP leaders for being on a yacht while he golfed yet again, access should in fact be further allowed and even possibly assisted. Nonetheless, it is restriction that the media sees when it comes to BP affected property. In fact, PBS reported on the same day their challenge to hear back from the federal mobile medical unit in the fishing town of Venice, Louisiana; a glorified double-wide trailer sits on a spit of newly graveled land known to some as the “BP compound.” To tell you the truth, this should not be surprising to anyone. Despite being practically in his pocket, Obama has become known for consistently restricting the press. When running for the nomination, the traveling press corps was shut out of monitoring Obama’s satellite interviews with local media outlets. Even more recently in his presidency, Obama seemed to place a border around his Supreme Court Justice nomination, going so far as to restrict members of the press from attending the brother of Elena Kagan’s Constitutional law class. In fact, short of a fluff interview that evaded an unwritten law regarding Supreme Court nominations, Kagan remains a mystery – a result of Obama’s control. More locally in his administration, offsite meetings and private emails as well as unavailable reports of payoffs coming from lobbyists show the main aspect of this situation is that another promise of “Change” is also being spit upon from this action. One of the greatest highlights to Obama’s contract with America was transparency. Accusing the previous administration of backdoor deals and taking government away from the nation, Obama is leading a force to not only buy out the nation but to also place a curtain between us and the tragedies we are forced to face and clean up. Thankfully, once the Americans really respond, there will be one mess will begin to be cleaned up in November. Originally Printed in The Daily Caller Why are We Suprised? 07/21/2010
Just around MemoGate I was an aspiring reporter who was prepping for a career in investigative journalism. In my spare time, I had a political Internet radio program called The Conservative Watchdog. This was the only place I allowed my political views to surface, especially as a consistent stringer reporter and intern. While at a New York Conference, I raised my hand to ask about my program and how it could assist me in some way through political reporting, the responding “Journalism Expert” stated: “You could always work for Fox News.” An eruption of laughter filled the room. I left journalism the next day and promptly changed my major to Political Science, never looking back. Journolist is not only a listserve but the pinnacle point signifying that the once detrimental weakness in the objective that is journalism has now turned into a cancer. When I wanted to be a reporter I thought of Nellie Bly and others who searched for the truth no matter the risk and never allowed their own beliefs to invade in their stories. The reality that the majority isn’t anywhere near that anymore is not only the reason why instances such as the one I encountered occur, but also why the field of journalism is and will continue to be a joke unless something is done. All in all, the recent Daily Caller article regarding it pretty much stated what we all knew: A large majority of the media is no longer the searchers for the truth but the creators and manipulators of it. Although it was during the Obama Presidential Campaign that major media organizations really began wearing the phrase “Liberal” as a badge of honor, it was always known that there was a growing leftist epidemic that was coming from their locations. Now, all we really and truly have is proof. Placing aside the aspect of the Obama Election however, you must admit that there is a larger factor of evidence that continues to this day. Recently, an Iranian American Democratic Fundraiser was charged with 12 years in prison. Despite this carrying a whiff of Abramoff, the story died quicker than it took the ink to dry on the papers that actually covered it. If I had been a GOP Fundraiser, another Abramoff would have never seen the end of it. When it comes to tactics such as calling conservative leaders such as Karl Rove racist, the aversion is pretty much Liberal Media 101. Every leader with an R at the end of their name or with any conservative background is seen as a threat and treated as such. As a result, we immediately are ready at guard: With a thick skin, a head of knowledge and an understanding that the truth will see light as long as we keep working for it. While many of us obviously knew factors such as this listserve somehow existed, I believe there is a hint of surprise because we in some way hoped we were wrong. That the real reporters still are on the front page and still are working day in and day out for the real truth and not one that is bounced around by a collection of “correspondents”. Nonetheless, here we are facing the truth and it is our response that will either sink or save the ship that is Journalism. Axelrod: GOP would turn America backwards? 07/13/2010
America continually witnesses the Obama administration and its cronies living in a bubble where they are the greatest leaders of this nation and not the ones that are continually selling its future like the stock market.
